We pick Mirka up tomorrow! I am so excited.

Finshed painting my room. It looks very nice. Got new curtains, too.

Busy busy busy. I am so scatterbrained. School starts soon. I've recovered--if I ever had--an attention span. This is very good. I'm trying to read Moby Dick, sort of for AP Lit sort of for pleasure reading.

I'm in love with my guitar. Speaking of love . . . I miss Troy. Sunday seems so far away.

I've been so tired, but getting lots of sleep. I've always had nightmares, but I've been having some pretty aweful, pretty weird dreams recently. I wish I knew what they meant.

I love my bed. In fact, I'm going to go cuddle up in it.

Why does it take half the summer to start to feel like summer?

Things are going much better. Had a very depressing weak, but finally sorted through some family issues. After much tears and words.

Yesterday Troy came over and we played tennis for almost 2 hours. Man it felt good. A little weird, cause I haven't played in so long. And there were these 2 guys on the other court turns out I know them. On the way out one said "Hey Susie." (I was like, wha? I swear I heard that guy say my name.) It was August from my physics class. He lives around here. The other was Kevin, he goes to my school too. It's such a small world.

Then me and Troy went for a starlight swim in the neighbor's pool. (They're not home and they let us use their pool whenever. I felt like we we sneaking around, we had to use flashlights and couldn't find the light. hmmph.)

Today I tried to help Kelly work on her room (made a little progress--got to get things ready for Mirka!). Then I went out and swam/tanned for a little while, worked outside, trimmed Spanky's feet, swam again, watched Identity with Troy. Creepy stuff.

Tomorrow Kelly and I are going to get up early and play tennis, then go tan at the pool. Oh yes we are.

I'm going to NC the 3-11! So exciting. Will stay with Brenna, then Chrissy and Zack. Yay!

Well I'm wasting precious summer time. Love ya'll

Chrissy is now graduated, married, and working. It's so weird saying "my sister and her husband..." The wedding was absolutely unbelievable.

I've taken to showering twice a day. It's really humid. I want to play tennis, but can't tonight. Troy and I bought a basketball the other day and were shooting hoops down at the park. Yeah, it was terrible. I haven't played in forever, and I was never any good. But it was still fun.

On my whim, we're taking in an exchange student from the Czech Republic this year! We're gonn clear out Kelly's room for her (when Kelly comes home she'll stay in the basement--no just kidding she'll stay in my room). Her name's Mirka (well that's her shortname/nickname) and she'll be here all year. I'm really excited.

Julie and Brenna are coming tonight! YAY We're going to NY tomorrow to see a show on Broadway. Then Thurdsay Julie and Kelly are going shopping (how boring) and Brenna and I are going to Dorney park! Whoop whoop.

I love my guitar. I read the 6th Harry Potter book, it was pretty good. I stayed up till 5am the other night. I finally submitted my philosophy paper (and thus finished the class). Went swimming for the first time this summer in the neighbor's in-ground. I really need a tan.

No actually I need to go clean.

Got more blood taken yesterday. =/ To see if my liver and spleen and blood and whatnot have gone back to normal. I was telling the doctor how tired I am, and she says I might be depressed. haha I'm like, um, I'm just a little tired, and it's because of this little thing called mononucleosis I had the other month.... I tell ya, those needles get bigger and bigger.

Saturday--ACT

Have I studied? Hardly.)

Wednesday--my powerpoint presentation is due. I'm looking forward to it. Watching other people do theirs makes me really want to get up and do one. I miss public speaking........Since when don't I like being the center of attention? =P

Might go to the beach with Troy's family Sunday--depends on how my book/presentation is coming. Oh, and if I get a bathing suit. hehe I know, I don't have one, and it's terrible.

We've been getting lots of wedding-intivation-notice-thingies in the mail recently. Next weekend is the shower for Chrissy--she's coming up. =) I filled out my passport paper--woo hoo! So exciting. I got a letter in the mail yesterday saying I was recommended as a freshman orientation person, I'll definitely do that if I can. Depends if I'm in Switzerland or not. =D

Well there's lots to be done. I've decided I'm going to visit the library much more often and read like a maniac--like I used to. I want to read everything, it's just that my attention span is shorter than the period at the end of this sentence so it's become very difficult for me to read a book. I'm not exaggerating when I say I've started reading about 12 books but haven't finish them. And I probably won't. Oh, I just read the Da Vinci Code--great book.

Au revoir.

Wow. No one is posting.

But I guess I shouldn't speak.

So I'm 17 now. Seems old, but then again it doesn't. I got lots of things, including the things I asked for (ahem--my guitar strap). 15 and 16 were great ages. I'm gonna make 17 the best. =P

I want to go see Star Wars III again--it was great! I also want to see Hamlet at the McCarter theatre before it stops showing.

I need to get my permit.

I've started cooking and I haven't actually had any "incidents." You know--like putting tinfoil in the microwave, starting a fire in the oven, mixing chocolate chips in the cookie batter in an electronic mixer, using pepper instead of cyenne pepper...The list goes on and on.

I am in love with my guitar. My favorite song to play and sing is Hands Down by Dashboard confessional.

I'm reading the Da Vinci Code. It's really good, I cant put it down.

But the laptop's battery is dying. So I guess that means I'm ending th

It was glorious! I love NC so much. Visiting was bitter-sweet. Chrissy was beautiful as always, we're so proud of her--she got an award and was student speaker. We went out to dinner with her and Zack a couple times. It was really nice seeing Zack again.

I don't have time to write now. Maybe I'll write later.

Hi

I am a little stressed. I've been doing nothing today but eat it seems. Kiki and I need to pack for tomorrow. WE'RE GOIN TO NC BABY! I can't wait. I need something to wear to Chrissy's graduation, and dinner the night before. I wish I could go to Casey's graduation, but it's the same day!! =( I bought some cute new clothes from the mall, probably pack those..

Wow, it's hot upstairs. No air-conditioning. Guess we'll be sleeping downstairs tonight.

I want to bring my guitar but I'm not sure we'll have room. I wonder if I'll see Troy before I go?

Uh...Kelly left. I got to go pack.

Went to Morgan's b-day party last night--twas lots of fun. Lots of people, I think they liked me. =P It was a pool/hot tub party but I didn't have a bathing suit, but eventually I ended up just jumping in fully clothed. We had hamburgers, cake, scratch brownies that Troy and I had spent hours making earlier, danced in the basement, swam in the pool, soaked in the hot tub, played the guitar...I got Morgan a deck of playing cards with pics of cowboys, a bit keychain and a knife. A pocket knife--sort of--Smith and Wesson, anyway. She really liked it.

I really want to get in better shape. Bathing suit season coming up, don'tcha know. I'm not in bad shape, but definitely lots of room for improvement. It's just . . . exercising's such a pain. Honk if u agree.

I can't wait to go to the beach! But I need a bathing suit. Who wants to go shopping with me? I need a haircut, too. But I'm getting one next week.

I ust have my calc final on Monday and then I'm completely done school!!! I am so thrilled. So far I have an A in everything and should get one in calc too. I need to start studying for the stinking SAT and ACT. >=/

Shopping online for bathing suits. Feel like working out.

Only two more weeks of school! And then a week of finals. I have three finals (physics, calc and German), a final comparison paper for English and two AP exams to take. Woo hoo! I can't wait for the summer, no school. In English we just read this really good book called Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut. It's about an American spy during WWII pretending to be a Nazi, a radio broadcaster of antisemitic propaganda (Did that phrase even make sense?). Excellent book.

The goslings are huge.

Troy and I have been having a very interesting time...Interesting as in kind of bad, but it'll be alright. Last night he was teaching me to juggle. I think I'm getting the hang of it.

I have a new friend, Aaron, who it would seem God has put in my life. He's Catholic! I didn't know that until after I called him.

Well that's all I feel like sharing for now.

I got an A on my research paper! I had a really hard physics test yesterday. The teacher's such a butthead, he put questions on there that on material we didn't cover, problems we've never done...He better curve the grades.

I can't wait till summer! I don't think I'm taking philosophy (as a summer course), cause I'm just burning out. I had summer classes last year, and I hated it. I just need a break.

I've been playing tennis a lot more recently, I haven't regressed as much as I thought I would. It feels so good to get back out thtere, I love it! Troy's gone out with me two or three times. He's fairly good himself, I suppose, though I'm no judge. It's just annoying cause almost every hit (or miss) of mine is followed by a critical if not sarcastic remark from him, and I'm thinking, Not like you're any better, but, huh, ooh-kay. The guy playing in the court behind me hit two balls over the fence, and one hit me. haha I fixed one of my tennis skirts yesterday; it needed hemming and the button sewn back on.

Friday night we went to see Hello Dolly, a highschool production. It was really good. I knew three people in the play, and ran into Gabrielle, Dierdre and Justin, Heather, and Tiffany in the audience. I think Troy really enjoyed it too.

I can't think of anything else to say. I really need to call my German teacher, but my mom's been on the phone for the past hour, sooo....

Ah well. Hakuna matata.

How Old Is Your Church? [Apr. 4th, 2005|10:46 pm]
How Old Is Your Church?

If you are a Lutheran, your religion was founded by Martin Luther, an ex- monk of the Catholic Church, in the year 1517.

If you belong to the Church of England, your religion was founded by King Henry VIII in the year 1534 because the Pope would not grant him a divorce with the right to remarry.

If you are a Presbyterian, your religion was founded by John Knox in Scotland in the year 1560.

If you are a Protestant Episcopalian, your religion was an offshoot of the Church of England founded by Samuel Seabury in the American colonies in the 17th century.

If you are a Congregationalist, your religion was originated by Robert Brown in Holland in 1582.

If you are a Methodist, your religion was launched by John and Charles Wesley in England in 1744.

If you are a Unitarian, Theophilus Lindley founded your church in London in 1774.

If you are a Mormon (Latter Day Saints), Joseph Smith started your religion in Palmyra, N.Y., in 1829.

If you are a Baptist, you owe the tenets of your religion to John Smyth, who launched it in Amsterdam in 1605.

If you are of the Dutch Reformed church, you recognize Michaelis Jones as founder, because he originated your religion in New York in 1628.

If you worship with the Salvation Army, your sect began with William Booth in London in 1865.

If you are a Christian Scientist, you look to 1879 as the year in which your religion was born and to Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy as its founder.

If you belong to one of the religious organizations known as 'Church of the Nazarene," "Pentecostal Gospel." "Holiness Church," "Pilgrim Holiness Church," "Jehovah's Witnesses," your religion is one of the hundreds of new sects founded by men within the past century.

If you are Catholic, you know that your religion was founded in the year 33 by Jesus Christ the Son of God, and it is still the same Church.

I had a rough day today, I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because I have been pushing myself too much and didn't get enough sleep last night.

I had a lot of fun last night, though. Mom drove me to school for the Phi Theta Kappa induction rehearsal [turns out I had the wrong time and we missed it =( ] and then we went to Target to spend my gift certificate and then to Borders to spend that gift certificate. I LOVE book stores! It took me forever to pick out some books, I was torn. When I finally had two picked out, at the last minute I found the untranslated section and picked up Die Marchen der Bruder Grimm instead (the brother Grimms' fairy tales). Oh, and Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor.

Friday in the piano lounge people are having a talent show or something, people are gonna be playing the piano, guitar and singing and stuff. I think it'd be fun to play something on the guitar and sing, even tho I'm no good. =P I'm thinking about it. It depends entirely on when it is. I'm only here and free from 10-11.

Oh, I got hold of Amanda Thompson's screen name--a very old friend, more Kelly's friend actually--and she gave me her home phone number so I can call Patrick. I can't wait to call him this weekend, it's been forever since I've talked to him--8 years, maybe?--and we were such good friends so long ago...I'm really looking forward to talking to him. I'm sure I'll post about it later.

This is so cool, it's like I never even had mono! Except that I've lost weight. But hey, that's great. =D I had gained 8lb (apparently "water weight") and then like overnight I lost 15. Scary. Anyway, I'm back to my old self. Especially yesterday . . . Troy and I went after school to see Miss Congeniality 2 (it was good) and then to Tractor Supply to see the ducklings, but of course they didn't have any. I stole a chick box and told my mom we got ducklings. And we sort of rode around looking for a Starbucks but didn't have any luck. But I was trying to get him to take me to a restaurant where we could "make a scene." You know, like get in a fake fight and yell. Or go into the law office and pretend we were getting a divorce. Needless to say he didn't stop.

Our durango's transmission died. Tomorrow after church I'm staying the whole morning to sell donuts with my youth group. What a great day to sell, there'll be so many moor people there. I'll prolly do something with Katie today, soon while Kelly and mom are at Nana's picking up Kelly's car. I'm gonna go play my guitar. I just printed out the chords for Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams. =D

I can't WAIT until summer!

School will be over, it'll be warmer and this perpetual raincloud will hopefully evaporate. I'm practically making a list of stuff I want to do. Summers are just so awesome! I'll miss going to the beach with the W-S Mischinskis, though. I miss you Brenna!! [Don't think she has this site, but w/e.] I just hope I'm not disappointed, because my summers in NC were so awesome. Kelly will be home, and Troy will no doubt be around, and Katie's always around, so I won't ever be completely bored, I guess. =P hehe I'm just kidding Kiki.

Why My Summers In North Carolina Were Always So Awesome:

1. I had awesome friends like Casey and Katie to share them with =)
2. Sleeping over (and being at) other people's houses so much I hardly lived at home
3. Riding horses
4. Sleeping outside
5. Eating popsicles and grilled hotdogs (not together, or anything)
6. Playing cards
7. Going to the movies
8. The beautiful Carolina sun
9. Swimming with friends in their pools
10. Congress
11. Camps
12. THE BEACH
13. Amusement parks

Gosh, thinking back on my NC summers is so bitter-sweet. I suppose I'll do my best to make my first real PA summer an unforgettably wonderful one. My junior year, ya'll. It's gonna be the greatest.

Susie
